ADAW International works to promote accountability for the enactment and implementation of legal and policy frameworks for women’s socio-economic justice. As part of promoting women’s human rights, ADAW International works to promote gender empowerment and equality. A significant aspect of women’s vulnerability and disempowerment is linked to lack of; or limited economic activity amongst women.

Our Programs

Access to Justice for Most at Risk Populations

Uganda is a country where the lives of Most at Risk Populations are insecure right from a legal regime that criminalizes them. ADAW International works to promote respect and protect human rights of Most at Risk Populations through enhanced access to justice, research and advocacy, legal and human rights awareness, capacity enhancement and strategic partnerships.

Legal Aid

The provision of accessible, high quality legal aid services to vulnerable women is at the core of ADAW International’s mandate. Women are disproportionately affected by poverty; ADAW International’s provision of legal services to these marginalized groups addresses poverty directly, by enabling them to have access to land and economic opportunities that they are routinely denied due to discriminatory cultural practices and values.
